The addon

MSPaintWoW is an addon too, so you don't have to alt tab mid pull. Same drawings and same words as the site, in a window in game. On retail it shows the Midnight raids. On WoW Forever it shows the dungeons, plus loot, the gear ladder and a guild page.

What it does

• Boss guides in game. Every mechanic picture for every boss. Walk into a dungeon and it opens on that dungeon.
• Follows the run. Pull a boss and a small pull card shows its mechanics at the side of your screen. It doesn't eat clicks and it's gone when the fight ends. If the guide is open it jumps to that boss, and a kill moves it on to the next one still up, with dead ones marked Killed. Kills reset on a fresh run. Between pulls the window fades out until you mouse over it. Float it or dock it on the left.
• Loot tables. Boss drops, trash and quest rewards for each dungeon. Pick a class and its gear lights up (it starts on yours). The other faction's quest rewards stay hidden, and shift click links an item in chat.
• Gear ladder. Your chase list for your spec, split by level, with where each piece drops. It follows the wishlist you picked on the site. Loot something on it and it ticks itself off and tells you how far through the bracket you are. Ding into a new bracket and the list moves with you, and a few levels out it starts showing the next bracket's gear too. By dungeon shows what to run, and clicking a source opens that dungeon's guide.
• Guild page. Guildmates running the addon share their chase lists. Yours sends itself when you tick something, loot something or level up, and you still see the last list from anyone offline.
• Team ups. It finds dungeons where you and guildmates near your level still need gear, online people first, with Whisper and Invite buttons. If you both want the same piece it tells you, so sort out who rolls first.

The gear ladder and guild page are WoW Forever only for now. Midnight doesn't have a ladder yet.

Commands

• /mspw opens or closes the guide window
• /mspw ladder your gear ladder chase list
• /mspw guild the guild page and team ups
• /mspw map the dungeon map (M does the same inside a dungeon)
• /mspw pull turns the pull card on or off
• /mspw auto turns opening the whole guide on pulls on or off
• /mspw help every command, and which settings are on

Installing it

CurseForge or WowUp: search for MSPaintWoW and hit install. WowUp gets it from CurseForge, so it's the same addon either way and both keep it updated.

By hand:

1. Download the zip and unzip it. You want the MSPaintWoW folder.
2. In the Battle.net app, pick the version of the game you play, hit the cog next to Play and choose Show in Explorer.
3. Open that version's folder (_retail_ for Midnight, the classic one for WoW Forever), then Interface/AddOns. Make the AddOns folder if it isn't there.
4. Drop the MSPaintWoW folder in, so you end up with Interface/AddOns/MSPaintWoW/MSPaintWoW.toc. Not a folder inside a folder.
5. Restart the game, or /reload if you're already in, then type /mspw.

Moving your wishlist between the site and the game

On the gear ladder you pick what goes in each slot, per level range. That's your wishlist. It travels as a short code starting with mspw3: that holds your class, spec and the slots you changed. The two letters on the end catch a code that got cut off in the copy. Codes from before wishlists don't work any more.

Pasting a code asks first, then swaps in that wishlist for its spec. What you've already got stays put: the addon works that out from your bags and your loot.

Site to game: open your class and spec on the gear ladder and hit Copy code in the Take it in game box. In game, type /mspw ladder, hit Paste a code from the site, paste it and hit Use it.

Game to site: on /mspw ladder hit Copy a code for the site and press Ctrl+C. On the site, paste it in the box that says Got a code from the addon and hit Use it.

In game a code only goes onto a character of the same class, so paste your Warrior code on your Warrior. On the site a code for another class gives you a link to that class's list.

Showing a mate: hit Copy link instead and send them that. They see your sheet read only, and can use it as theirs if they want.
